NamStarter has only been recently launched, on 17 August 2017 at RLabs Namibia’s Youth Day at NBII. However, some unexpected technical issues still had to be sorted out, and we could only go fully online as from October 2017. Hence, NamStarter is still in its pilot phase, as Namibia’s very first Crowdfunding Platform. In the moment, NamStarter is made possible with the support from the Finnish Embassy in Windhoek , yet this support will phase out by March 2018. We are therefore working on a combination of ways to financing NamStarter, so we can sustain and grow this initiative for the benefit of as many creative, innovative and aspiring Namibians as possible. The campaign goal of N$ 200,000 will enable us to carry on with NamStarter until the end of 2018, hereby covering basic costs to host, maintain and administer the website with continuously improving functionality. However, this is just one part of our multi-faceted sustainability strategy and would not yet cover the training, mentoring and other kinds of support we offer to aspiring campaigners. We therefore have launched a simliar crowdfunding campaign on StartNext, especially for supporters in German-speaking countries. …and of course, we also don’t mind if our above-mentioned funding goal can even be exceeded; 😉 Thank you very much for your support in advance! 🙂
