About

My name is Matheus Agustinus, 19 years old. I live in Havana, Zambia Street. I decided to have a short project on plumbing whereby I will be fixing broken taps, toilets and burst pipes around Havana. I finished grade 10 and got vocational training at KAYEC, where I was doing a certified course in "Plumbing and Pipe Fitting" for six months, from September last year (2016) until May this year. After finishing the training, I worked for 'Cameroon Building and Renovations' for two months while they were building a house, and asked me to do the plumbing work on the construction site. But my job ended when the building was complete. I now want to apply my skills in the community where I stay, and possibly become self-employed.

Why is plumbig an issue in Havana?

In Havana, often times pipes burst and by the time the municipality arrives, it’s too late and a lot of water is lost. Some people who are already connected to water have broken taps in their houses or their showers and toilets are not working this are some effects happening around my community. Sometimes its very hard for some people to get their toilets fixed due to lack of finances. That’s why I want to offer my services to those that are in need of my help.
